The Shawnee State University has announced an opening to scholars to apply for the Merit-Based Scholarships for the academic year 2019. The Merit-based scholarships are one of the most competitive awards available to international students from all over the world to enable them to complete their undergraduate studies at the school.

 The Scholarship Value

The awards are of different categories. Beneficiaries of each category hall receive the following under listed

  • Shawnee Scholar Award: Full-tuition scholarship for four years.
  • Shawnee Achievement Award: $6,000 per year/$24,000 for four years
  • Shawnee Excellence Award: $5,000 per year/$20,000 for four years
  • Shawnee Success Award: $4,000 per year/$16,000 for four years
  • Blue & Gray Award: $3,000 per year/$12,000 for four years

Level & Fields of Study Covered

The awards shall cover any undergraduate course offered at the University.

Eligibility Criteria for the Merit-Based Scholarships

To be eligible to apply for the scholarships, prospective applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Citizens of all nationals can apply.
  • Shawnee Scholars Award.  The Award is given to high and outstanding students based on its competitive nature. Applicant should have an ACT score of 30 and higher or SAT (combined reading/math) score of 1320+ and a high school grade point average of at least 3.8/4.0 scale
  • Shawnee Achievement Award:  Applicants are required to have an ACT score of 27 and higher or SAT (combined reading/math) score of 1210+ and a high school grade point average of at least 3.8/4.0 scale
  • Shawnee Excellence Award: you are expected to have an ACT score of 25 and higher or SAT (combined reading/math) score of 1130+ and a high school grade point average of at least 3.6/4.0 scale
  • Shawnee Success Award: you are expected to have an ACT score of 23 and higher or SAT (combined reading/math) score of 1060+ and a high school grade point average of at least 3.4/4.0 scale.
  • Blue & Gray Award: Applicants must  have an ACT score of 21 and higher or SAT (combined reading/math) score of 980+ and a high school grade point average of at least 3.2/4.0 scale

 

 

How to Submit an Application

  • You must apply first to Shawnee State University for an admission. Your admission will serve as your scholarship application as well
  • You must meet the required scores for ACT/SAT and send the score to Office of Admission.
  • Also send your current high school/ secondary school grade point average to the admissions office. You can find them on the school’s website
