The African Doctoral Academy (ADA) has announced a limited number of scholarships offer to scholars want to pursue their Doctoral Studies. successful candidates will have the opportunity to partake in the ADA Summer school at Stellenbosch University beginning in January 2019. Beneficiaries will part take in a rigorous and yet educative 19 courses over three weeks such as Mixed Methods Research Design , Research Design, and Methodology, as well as other necessary courses related to analytical techniques.

The Scholarship Value

African Doctoral Academy  offers  full scholarships which include fees, airfare, and accommodation to successful candidates

Also, beneficiaries shall receive the following underlisted

  1. Transport to visit the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town on Sunday 13 January.
  2.  courses at the ADA Summer School that will run for 2 weeks
  3. You shall have a Self-catering accommodation which will be located withinStellenbosch.
  4. Where applicable, you will have a Return Economy airfare to and from Cape Town International Airport
  5. Also, Transport to and from Cape Town International Airport on land will also be made available.
  6. You can choose to attend a preparatory course, as well as a one day course.
  7. However, the candidate’s home institution shall be responsible for  the candidate’s daily subsistence allowance and visa fees if needed

Please note that your air ticket is not covered and should be booked by the home institution

Level & Fields of Study Covered

19 courses shall be taken over three weeks such as Mixed Methods Research Design, Research Design and Methodology, as well as other necessary courses related to analytical techniques. Beneficiaries shall also be trained in Doctoral Supervision, as well as  skills in Writing and publishing of articles

Eligibility Criteria for the African Doctoral Academy Scholarship

To be eligible to apply for the scholarships, prospective applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • You can enroll from any discipline
  • You must ensure your home institutions enroll you by s by February 2019 and have been enrolled for no more than 12 months by 1 February 2019.
  • Those dependant on bursary should wait for the outcome
  • Preference will be given to candidates from Africa.
