Innovative Instrumentation Studentship:

  • Covers stipend of £14,777 per annum,
  • tuition fees
  • support for associated costs of research
  • conference travel

Level & Fields of Study Covered

Studentships are offered to research Postgraduate study program. Innovative instrumentation studentship covers only PhD Research programme

Eligibility Criteria for the Research Studentship

To be eligible to apply for the Scholarships, prospective applicants must meet the following criteria:

Astronomy Postgraduate Analysis Studentships

  • You must be an EU or UK national
  • Must have attained a minimum of 2.1 in a built-in MPhys or a pass in a Masters degree or a 1st class in a Bachelors degree, in physics, astrophysics or mathematics
  • The study is for a full time/part time PhD programme

Highly developed Instrumentation Studentship:

  • You must have or expect to attain at least a 2.1 in integrated masters or a  first class bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Physics, Engineering).
  • You must have a passion for the application of novel optical instrument design to real environment issues
  • You must be innovative, creative and self-determined
  • Must also have excellent communication skills and be a team player.
